So, I linked a list of goals for 2012. Some of them involve creating more and some consuming more. Part of my plan is to consume more meaningful content. I enjoy tech news and following Open Source projects. I can learn a lot from it, but a lot of it is also trivia, and the benefit of my invested time has diminished a lot. My main recent benefit has been remaining current on the topics, but I don't feel the need for that, really. So, from now on, I won't be very useful to discuss telephones or specific software announcements, as I'll hopefully be ignorant. No more trivial "news".Instead I'm going to try to read more in general. Read books of interest, read some fiction, read a lot of non-fiction. And hopefully I'll write about a bit of it. I used to enjoy sharing what I read a lot. My audience has changed, though, and so have the tools for sharing: I don't have an ideal platform for innocuously sharing things I find interesting any more. So, hopefully I'll soon know more about the world, about statistics, about history, about food, and hopefully I'll write a bit on those.
Writing more. I think I've done a good job of increasing the regularity of my writing. It's almost back up to high school levels, which borders on pathetic. :D I'm going to try to be more creative and active in general though. I let piano slack for two months, but I'm resuming. I'll also focus on my German, my arts martial, cooking, et cetera. Hopefully I'll be more interesting and worthy of all your time. I'd like to think I've 2011's midterm goals of eliminating stress and my sharpest edges have met success. They better have.
I like that one of my goals is to Eat More, which seems contrary to the tradition of New Year's Resolutions. :D
